![]() It wasn't "giant gophers," as one staff member put it, that created numerous deep trenches across the Weatherford College campus over the holidays, but visible signs of progress. Workers were installing new gas lines throughout the campus, replacing aging pipes that have been in place since the College was built on the hillside in the late '60s. Barring bad weather and other complications, the trenches are expected be covered by the time students arrive on campus Monday, Jan. 11, to begin the 2010 spring semester. College officials are expecting another record spring enrollment. Regular registration continues through Friday, and late registration concludes Jan. 15.
